Pokemon Anime 24-hour Marathon Currently Running on Disney XD

Surprise! If you’re magically staying home from school or work today, you can watch the Pokemon anime. All. Day. Long.

If for some reason you have absolutely nothing to do for the entirety of a weekday, you can curl up in bed with your Pikachu plushes and watch a marathon of Pokemon episodes on Disney XD today. This marathon was announced by The Pokemon Company last night and will feature episodes of Pokemon XY, chronicling Ash’s adventures in the Kalos region.

The marathon is set to run from 6:30am ET this morning, and thus has already begun. It will continue until 6:30 a.m. ET tomorrow, 4/15. You can watch it either on Disney XD on your TV or, if you want to watch from your computer, you can tune in via the Disney XD website by signing in with your provider.

This isn’t the only time the Pokemon anime will be on Disney XD. If you’ve been living under a Geodude for the last year or so, Disney XD recently acquired the Pokemon anime and has been airing reruns of Pokemon XY and XYZ a few times a week. You can watch the show regularly on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. ET, Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 p.m., and every weekday at 4 p.m.

This marathon leads us to wonder if the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime is imminent in the west. Episodes have been airing weekly in Japan and we’ve already seen the dubbed versions of the first two episodes on Disney XD, but it’s not airing on a regular schedule yet. We’re excited for Sun and Moon’s vastly different animation style and seemingly goofier take on the series’ quintessential puns and gags. Plus, Pikachu is looking just so darn cute in the screenshots!

We’ll be keeping an eye out for announcements about the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime and when we can finally watch it, but in the meantime, catch up with us by watching Pokemon XY during the marathon today!
