Make the most of the Legendary Raids this weekend with our Pokémon GO Moltres Raid Guide.
Pokémon GO Tour Kanto is just around the corner, and while it’s a great ticketed event, there are still lots to do if you don’t want to spend any money. One of the highlights of the free-to-play friendly events is the return of the original Legendary Birds to Raids.
Pokémon GO Moltres Raid Guide: GO Tour Kanto
Pokémon GO Tour Kanto will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on February 20. During this time, you’ll be able to battle the Legendary Birds Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos in Legendary Raids.
The best part? The birds caught during the event will know their Legacy Moves. These powerful moves became available after Niantic’s numerous balance updates. Often, a Legacy Move will make a good Pokémon great or amazing.
Pokémon GO Moltres Counters
Moltres is a dual Fire and Flying type Pokémon. It’s weak to Rock, Water and Electric attacks. Since both Fire and Flying are weak to Rock, Moltres is double weak to it. A strong Rock type attacker like Rhyperior or Tyranitar will take care of Moltres quickly.
Water and Electric Pokémon are also both safe bets against Moltres. A standard bulky Water type like Swampert can shrug off most of Moltres’s attacks, since it doesn’t have any moves that can cover the types it’s weak to.
Pokémon GO Sky Attack
Moltres’s Legacy Move is Sky Attack, giving it another great STAB (Same Type Attack Boost) move. Moltres could already learn Wing Attack as a Flying Quick Move, but Sky Attack is one of the game’s best Charge Moves that you definitely want on Moltres. Fire Blast and Heatwave round out the package, and can pair well with Sky Attack depending how fast you want you Moltres. It was already a great Fire type attacker, and Sky Attack makes Moltres even better.
